Weather comparable to the
Payson area with warm summers and cool winters (but little snow) you'll
find typical vegetation predominated by cedars and juniper along with an
occasional piñon pine. The climate is a dry one except for the
monsoon season and winter rains which promote a wonderful display of
spring wildflowers. Land prices generally range for as little as $800 and
acre up to $1,600 per acre. Land is usually sold in "chunks"
from 10 to 40 acre parcels. This property is fairly easy to acquire and
affordable for most. Ranchette possibilities are endless along the
abundant canyons and arroyos.
Presently, there is no
electricity to this area. Most residents utilize generators, solar and
propane for their power needs. There are community wells dotted throughout
these sections and townships giving property owners access to haul water
to their homesteads. Some owners have installed wells on their property
and power the pumps with gasoline/propane generators. There is plenty of
water at drilling depths of approximately 700 to 1100 feet. Don't expect
to see any paved roads...a truck or four wheel drive is helpful! You can
escape to the "not so old" west and enjoy the isolation and
serenity of this wonderful country!
